RADPrimer Introduces Assignments!
By popular demand, we have introduced assignments in RADPrimer. Until now, residents have been able to review the expert-curated curriculum in RADPrimer, but there was no way to divide it up and assign it to specific residents on specific rotations. As a result, Program Directors were unable to document resident progress and knowledge milestones, and there was little accountability. With this RADPrimer update, you can now assign the expert-curated curriculum ‘as-is’ or tailor it to your own rotations and the site-specific needs of your program.
There are now three options for making assignments RADPrimer:
1. Use pre-built assignments
|
Simply assign each of the pre-built assignments to your residents “as is.” These are expert-curated assignments that will satisfy the needs of most programs. ’Basic ‘ level assignments cover the concepts of a typical first rotation, while the ‘intermediate’ level assignments cover concepts residents would learn in subsequent rotations up through their third year. |
2. Customize pre-built assignments
|
Easily add or remove lessons to the pre-built assignments. The reading, practice, and test questions in your assignment will automatically adjust to reflect the changes. Click here for step-by-step instructions
|
3. Create your own assignments
|
Start from scratch and select from the comprehensive collection of lessons in the RADPrimer curriculum to build your own assignments. Each lesson you create will automatically generate reading assignments, with associated practice and test questions to assess their mastery of the concepts in the lesson. FAQ
Q: Will residents automatically be assigned pre and post tests as they were in the previous version?
A: No. In order for your resident to take a pre or post test, you will need to give them an assignment to do so. Click here or visit [URL] to learn how you can adapt the newest version of RADPrimer to your program if you were using the pre and post testing model.
Q: What happens when I give an assignment to my residents?
A: The resident receives an e-mail notification and will see the new assignment when they log into their account. Click here for more information about RADPrimer from the resident perspective.
Q. Where can I see scores and progress my resident has made in the previous version of RADPrimer?
A: You will find a historical report of the progress and performance for each resident under the “Reporting” tab.
Q. Can my program coordinator make the assignments?
A: Absolutely! Use your RADPrimer credentials to access your group account. If you need credentials please contact support@radprimer.com.
Q. Can I make the assignments for the whole year at once?
A: Yes. We have built in the flexibility to specify an assignment date and a due date or none at all. For example, you can assign all of RADPrimer’s pre-built assignments without a due date. This gives each resident the flexibility to complete them as they progress through your program.
Q. What happens if I don’t make any assignments?
A: Your residents will be able to use RADPrimer for the self-assessments. Faculty will be able to generate reports that show lessons they have marked complete and the number of practice questions they have completed, and time spent reading. Keep in mind: they will not see questions that have been reserved for testing unless you give them assignments or else request that the questions reserved for testing be unlocked for your residents to use in their self-assessments. Program Directors can email support@radprimer.com to request that the questions be unlocked.
Q: Where can I view the the topics covered in each pre-built assignment?
A: To help you understand the organization of the RADPrimer curriculum we have created a document listing of the topics and multiple-choice question counts for each pre-built assignment in an easy to format. Click attachment below to view the document.
